The following FAQs may be useful as you prepare to leave campus.

1) FuquaNet ID
- How long will my FuquaNet account be active after I graduate? Your FuquaNet account gives you access to public PCs at Fuqua as well as the Fuqua VPN client. Your FuquaNet account will remain active (four months after graduation.)
2) Duke Email Account
- How long will my email account be active after I graduate?
Your Duke email (firstname.lastname@duke.edu) account will remain intact for (one year after you graduate.) You must archive, forward or save all email that you wish to retain from this account before the account is disabled. Once the account is disabled, you will have no recourse to recover your email. This account is managed by Duke OIT, any questions or concerns that you have can be directed to help@duke.edu or by contacting them directly at 919.684.2200. - Is there a Duke email address available for alumni?
Yes! The Duke Alumni Association offers alumni email accounts (firstname.lastname@alumni.duke.edu) that enables you to brand yourself as a Duke graduate in all of your future communications. After graduation, you will need to register for a Duke OneLink account (if you do not currently have one), which will allow you to login to request your alumni email address as well as to give you access to other Duke resources post-graduation.
3) Alumni Directories
- Can I still access the Fuqua Alumni directory?
Yes, Fuqua’s Alumni Directory will continue to be available to you after graduation, using your Duke OneLink account. - How do I access the Duke Alumni directory?
Duke Alumni Association’s website can connect you with the university’s global alumni community. After graduation, you will need to register for a Duke OneLink account, (if you do not currently have one), which will allow you to access the Alumni directory as well as other Duke resources post-graduation. - What if I have questions?

4) Canvas
- How long will I have access to Canvas?
Access to Canvas will last for (six months from graduation), it is up to the individual professors on how long they will leave the content for their classes up. It is our recommendation to download all the files that you wish to retain immediately to avoid any problems should the professors decide to pull their content down over the summer. - How do I download my course files?
After logging into Canvas, click on Files. Click in the right portion of the first folder/file name, hold the Shift button and click in the right portion of the last folder/file name this will select all the files/folder for that course. (all of them will have a blue line to their right to show that they are selected). Now you will see new buttons/icons at the top and one of them is download.
5) Panopto
- How long will I have access to Panopto?
Panopto will be unavailable after NetID is deactivated.
6) Newsgroup & Discussion Spaces
- How long will our class newsgroups be available?
The platform discussion boards used by students in the executive MBA programs are kept online and made available to students for (six months after their class graduation date.) Once this six-month period elapses, the class discussion groups are taken offline and archived as part of ongoing maintenance to the Fuqua newsgroups. - How will I keep in touch after the news groups go away?
Make sure to join the Fuqua Alumni LinkedIn Group.
7) Box and OneDrive Storage
- What happens to my Box and OneDrive storage when I leave Duke?
Students will have the option to maintain their Box and OneDrive account one year upon graduation. (Please make sure to start the process before your one year end). Download any data you wish to keep to a local storage device or set up a Box personal account - To set up a OneDrive Personal account then transfer ownership from your Duke Box account to your personal Box account.The account will be deactivated exactly in a year.
8) Ford Library Databases
- How long will I have access to the library databases after I graduate?
- Can I access any library databases as an alumni?
The Ford Library offers select databases to alumni on an ongoing basis. You will use OneLink to access both job and company research resources and library databases. If you’re local, you may enjoy alumni borrowing privileges at many Duke libraries, including the Ford Library.
9) Software Usage After Graduation
- FAQs for Microsoft Office Graduation Copy
FAQs for Microsoft Office Graduation Copy - Which software can I continue to use after I graduate?
Students that haven’t already downloaded and installed a permanent license for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office from Duke OIT should plan on signing onto http://dukeoit.onthehub.com to obtain license keys and install media prior to graduation. In addition you must confirm that you have the graduation (permanent) copy of Microsoft Office installed, the Office 365 subscription will stop working post graduation. The license key located on the receipt must be saved or printed in addition to backing up the install media that is downloaded. There is no recourse for obtaining these items after graduation.
